Humber Scout Car

Humber

When Daimler couldn’t keep up production of the Dingo, Humber stepped in to build their now iconic vehicle. It was used primarily by British armoured units for scouting or liaison duty and was armed with a Bren mounted to the roof that could be operated from inside the vehicle if necessary. Production of the Humber continued throughout the war.

Anyone who has seen the classic movie A Bridge Too Far will be familiar with Brigadier J.O.E. Vandeleur, played as he was by Michael Caine, sat atop his Humber Scout Car as he leads XXX Corps to relieve the Airborne forces in ill-fated Operation Market Garden.

AEC

The AEC Armoured Car was built with the firepower of a tank, but the mobility of an armoured car. It started off with a Valentine Mk II turret 2 pounder gun, then bumped up to a 6 pounder for the Mk II and ending up with a 75mm gun for the Mk III. Not to mention machine guns!

The heavy hitters of the recon regiments! Despite their size and appearance these apparent light weights carried a not too shabby 6pdr (57mm) gun. Pick one up here!

Mounting a potent 75mm gun the Mk III AEC armoured car was probably the most heavily armed recce vehicle of WWII.

Cromwell Mk IV Cruiser Tank

Plenty more recently released British for you to look at besides these lovely scouts cars. Such as the  Cromwell tank and of course our ever popular multipart plastic British.

Britain and her Commonwealth put huge numbers of men into uniform in WW2 to stem the aggression from Germany, Italy and Japan. Her small professional army was swallowed up defending a worldwide Empire and soon her forces were shattered and in full retreat, culminating in crushing reverses at Dunkirk and in Singapore.

However, Britain stoically declined to surrender and, with her loyal Empire at her side, fought back. Re-equipped and refreshed they took the war to the Axis powers. The ‘Tommies’, as they were known, learned new techniques on the field of battle and by war’s end were highly trained and well-equipped.

Warlord’s British infantry are tooled up for the job in hand. They are multi-part and can be assembled in a wide variety of ways, with a huge array of exotic looking weaponry. Fix bayonets!
