Widely used throughout the war and in most theatres, the 88 was developed as an anti air-craft gun (FLAK is short for Flugzeugabwehrkanone meaning “aircraft-defensive cannon) but was occasionally also used as anti-tank artillery.

As the conflict progressed, this gun proved less and less effective towards the increasingly fast aeroplanes and more and more useful in piercing the increased Allied armour of the later stages of the war.

This gun can also be used to reppresent the 88MM Pak 43, of which we provide Bolt action rules below.
